Leadership Series | Mentorship

An important aspect of almost every leader's journey is finding mentors who can coach, motivate, and challenge them along the way. Here's 3 reasons why it is valuable to find a mentor along your career journey.

1. Mentors are a source of information - Mentors often have the experience and skills we are seeking after. They can share their journey and the things they have learned along the way as well as the mistakes they made in which we can learn.

2. Mentors challenge us - Mentors can bring valuable insight and perspective that we often cannot see. They can help us grow and develop and stretch us out of our comfort zones to help facilitate growth. Over time, a mentor/mentee relationship will be mutually beneficial and the mentee often times challenges the mentor in their personal growth as well.

3. Mentors hold us accountable - Mentors can hold us accountable and ensure that we stay on track on the goals we have set out to achieve. Mentors can be an objective source of encouragement and constructive criticism that can be beneficial in creating a pathway to career success.

Of course there are many more benefits to have a mentor, but we believe these are just a few that will help you along your leadership and career journey.
